Over the weekend Fran attended the North West Skills Expo in Broome, to continue WA Labor's fight against cuts to TAFE. In the past six years of Liberal Government, more than $100 million in TAFE funding has been cut from the budget, while fees for students have risen by around six hundred per cent in the last two years alone. By taking supoprt away from such a crucial part of WA's education system, the Barnett government has shown how shortsighted and disininterested it is in the continuing development of the WA economy.
Fran and WA Labor will continue to oppose cuts to TAFE, because we know that TAFE = SKILLS = JOBS.
